This course is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake internal audits of their organisation\'s quality management system (QMS), to the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The course focuses on ensuring that the internal audit process is a value adding activity, not only evaluating the performance and effectiveness of the QMS, but also identifying where improvements can be made.

This course has been developed in line with ISO 9000:2000 QMS series of standards and ISO 19011:2002 Guidelines for QMS Auditing.

  • overview of quality, standards and reasons for auditing
  • ISO 9001:2000, overview of requirements
  • Quality Management System structure
  • auditor\'s role and responsibilities and audit planning
  • audit preparation (process and documentation review)
  • audit methodology including opening meeting and interviews
  • evaluation of evidence, audit conclusions and reporting
  • preparation of audit reports
  • conducting closing meetings
  • follow-up of audit findings and the corrective action process for continual improvement
